~ FAREWELL TO MY BELOVED BROWNIES ~

From Jamie September 28, 2002

A REASON, A SEASON, OR A LIFETIME?

When someone is in your life for a REASON. . . It is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on.

Then people come into your life for a SEASON. Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons: things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

I want to Thank you ALL of you for being a part of my life. Girl Scouts have been my REASON for what I do and why I've done it for so long. When I became the Brownie Troop Leader in 1983 at the age of 18 I knew I had found my calling! I've had many adventures and befriended many new people. Some of you have been a SEASON and I've done the best I could to touch your lives and help point you in the right direction. I am proud to say that I am a Christian, I try to put God first in my life and I try to share the wonderful News of Jesus with everyone the best I can, with out offending anyone. I try my hardest to please everyone and I can only pray I've done the job the Lord has sent me to. Most of you have been my LIFETIME! I love each and everyone of you and I will NEVER ever forget the times we've spent together, both good and bad but mostly just unforgetably GOOD.

I've closed my Brownie Career with this poem for a very special reason. Mostly because it sums up life the best of any I've ever read. And as in life All GOOD things must come to an end. It breaks my heart to announce that the Ceremony on September 28th was the last ceremony I will perform as the Brownie Troop Leader.

But for personal reasons I feel I can no longer continue as Brownie Leader in the capasity that is needed to fullfill the needs of everyone involved. God has called me to move on so As of today I will step down and Darby will take my place. I will miss you all deeply and I will never forget you! Thank You for being my Reason, My Season & My Lifetime. I wish you all the very best in the changing seasons of your lives. Thank you all for your support over the years and never forget how much I love you ALL!

With Love ~ Always ~ Jamie
